We strive to worship in the simplicity of the New Testament church (Acts 2:42, Ephesians 6:19, John 4:24).

Each first day of the week, we gather together to worship God, remember and give thanks for Christ, sing together, pray together, partake of the Lord's Supper together, give as we have been prospered together, and study and listen to lessons from God's Word.

• Prayers:  There will be several prayers offered during the services.  You will notice that the men leading the prayers speak from the heart and their prayers will be specific in our requests and needs, and that our prayers, while addressed to God our Father, will, with thanksgiving, be offered in the name of Jesus, our Savior (Ephesians 5:20).

• Our worship in song:  We praise God in song with the "fruit of our lips" (Hebrews 13:15).  We sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments.  For us this is not a preference, it is a conviction that this is what God commands us to do.  Since the New Testament prescribes the music of the church to be "singing" (Ephesians 5:18-19; 1 Corinthians 14:14; Colossians 3:16), we sing and exclude musical instruments, just as the early church did.  Indeed, secular history tells us that this style of worship in song, known as "a cappella" (which means, in the style of the chapel) was the norm for many centuries after the church was established.  We hope that you will find the singing to be uplifting and meaningful. We encourage you to sing along with us as all are welcome to participate.  We do not have a designated group of singers such as a choir or "worship team".  We have congregational worship in song.

• Preaching:  You will notice that the preacher does not have a formal title.  He won't be referred to as "Pastor" or "Reverend".  He will not wear any ecclesiastical vestments that set him apart from the rest of the congregation, as the Bible teaches that all believers make up the priesthood of God in this New Testament age (1 Peter 2:9).  His sermon will be Bible centered.

• The Lord's Supper (Communion):  If you visit us on a Sunday, the Lord's Supper will always be a part of our worship service.  We observe this memorial each first day of the week, just as the first century church did (Acts 20:7).  During this memorial, which was established by Jesus as a time to remember Him (1 Corinthians 11:24-26), plates containing unleavened bread will be passed throughout the congregation.  The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus.  Each person will have an opportunity to partake of the bread (Acts 2:41-42).  After the bread has been passed, trays with small cups will be passed.  The cups contain "fruit of the vine", symbolizing the blood of Jesus that was shed for our sins.  Again, each person will be given the opportunity to partake of the fruit of the vine (Acts 2:41-42).

• The Offering:  In addition, if you visit on Sunday, because we are commanded to "lay by in store" on the first day of each week, (1 Corinthians 16:1-2), plates will be passed to collect a free-will offering from each member.  As a guest you are not expected to make a donation, so feel free to pass the plate on to the next person.

• The Invitation:  It is our custom, at the end of the sermon, for the preacher to offer an invitation to those present who wish to make a request for prayer for specific needs or for a person to request baptism for the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38).  This is not the only time a person can request baptism or prayers, merely a convenient time.
